Colima male figure from Western Mexico
Circa 200 BCE – 200 CE
Previously part of the Dr Harner collection, Arkansas
From the Colima culture in Western Mexico. This clay figure is of a man wearing an outfit tied in the back and is wearing a small headdress. He also has a pair of ear spools.Manganise deposits can be seen on the surface from nearly 2000 years in the soil.
Ceramic figurines were made as good luck charms, offerings and as representations of departed ancestors.
Size - Stands 110mm tall in a 230mm tall clamshell frame.
