How to Play
1. Animal Puzzle Fun
Using the animal outline shadow on the Encyclopedia Flashcard as a guide, find the matching magnetic pieces to construct the animal and learn about its structure.
2. Animal Kingdom Classification
Place the animal classification magnets on the board and the animals which fit each classification underneath. Different groups of classifications can be put on the board side by side for comparison.
3. Who Am I?
Cover the name of the animal and reference picture in the top corner of the Encyclopedia Flashcard. Try and guess which animal it could be!
4. How Many Legs Do I Have? Lets Count!
Place the animal leg classification magnets on the board and the animals which fit each leg classification underneath. Animals with different numbers of legs can be put on the board side by side for comparison.
5. What Do I Like To Eat?
Place the animal feeding habit magnets on the board and the animals which fit the feeding classification underneath. Animals with different feeding classifications can be put on the board side by side for comparison.
6. Where Is My Home?
There are 6 habitats on the back of the slant board. Help the lost animals get back to their homes.
Tip: Some animals live in a variety of habitats. Try to think about each animals’ characteristics and habits. Sometimes there is more than one answer!
7. Animal Knowledge Competition Game
How to play: One person places the Encyclopedia Flashcards in a pile and randomly chooses a card. The other players can take a turn at guessing which animal it is, based on its information, but without seeing the card. If they guess it right, they get to keep the card. If they guess incorrectly, the card is placed back into the pile to try again later. This game can be played one-on-one or as a family. It can also be played where each person takes it in turn to read the Encyclopedia flashcard out loud.
